I knew of Kari Jobe from her beautiful and powerful version of “Revelation Song”. That song instantly became a favorite of mine. In fact, I am listening to it as I write this post. As wonderful as it is, and I hope you listen to it soon, it is not the one I am showcasing today as we celebrate our very first “Worship Wednesday” here at Salty Girl Living!
I heard today’s worship song for the first time on a Christian radio station. I cried… “Boo-hooed” to be exact! Why? Well, for many reasons but mostly because it is a prayer and blessing for the generations, and to be honest, when I allow myself to get a bit down and unfocused, my heart bleeds for them… my children, their children… and the rest.
When the local church I attend, Destiny Worship Center, reopened after the general shutdown of 2020, we had a VERY special surprise waiting for us. The Destiny Worship Team was awesome as usual. Add to it that it was ESPECIALLY great to be back, raising our hands, singing out loud and worshipping all together as church should! What could be better?
Then, it happened…
They told us a couple of special guests were in the house for our return celebration! Any guesses? It was, indeed, Kari Jobe and Cody Carnes, singers of today’s song, “The Blessing”! WOW and WOW! Well, it is a very good thing they put tissues at the end of every aisle. I needed most of them.
2020 was a rough year. In many, many ways, this one is rough, too. BUT, we have something “the world” does not.
Let this song be “The Blessing” to you and yours.
