Hey, SGL friends!
Wow, it’s been a hot minute since I’ve posted! How is 2022 going for you so far? Can you believe Spring arrives tomorrow? YES! I am MORE than ready! And here in my house we are in full spring cleaning mode… house and yard… allergies alive and well! How about you? Are you ready for Spring? It's so very good to be back and catch up with you all!
Now, I have a question for you… and it might be a tough one.
Now that we’re about three months into this year, how are those resolutions, goals, ambitions, etc. that you set for yourself back in January coming along? I told ya… it might be a tough one!
Now, some of you may be in the camp that’s still going strong and seeing great results in them all. That is truly AWESOME and quite an accomplishment, I must say! It’s not easy, but you’re doing it! YAY! Keep up the good work!
Well…
OK. If you are in the “other” camp, you know, the one that has stopped, dropped and/or rolled over those New Year’s “whatevers”, maybe even for the millionth time, it’s OK! I’ve been there; I kinda am there. Maybe some of those goals were just not right at this time. Maybe life’s circumstances got in the way. I can attest to that! Or maybe, just maybe, you… we… gave up a little too soon on some of those things.
To be honest, it doesn’t really matter which “camp” you’re in or even where you are at this time in 2022. There are years things we want to happen do and years, well… they don’t. No matter what’s happening in your life right now, know first that God is COMPLETELY in control. He just is! Aren’t we so blessed to know that and rest in it? Now, even though that is true, we still need encouragement, right?
I want to share something. It’s something you may need now or something you may need later, but I guarantee… at some point, you will need it!
What is it? It’s HOPE!
Friends, 2022 is The Year of HOPE! Yup! How do I know this? I know this because that is EXACTLY what my quiet prayer time with the Lord in late December 2021, early January 2022 revealed!
2022 is The Year of HOPE, or as I affectionately like to refer to it… HOPE22!
That certainly sounds nice, but you’ve been there before. Maybe you’ve had hope in something for a very long time and you’re still waiting for “it”. Maybe you’ve had hope before and “it” just didn’t happen. Maybe you have hope right now, but “it” looks so bad that you’re ready to give up on “it” entirely. Please, don’t. PLEASE, DON’T!
THERE👏🏻IS👏🏻HOPE👏🏻… for you, your family, your finances, your business, this country, this world, for ______________ (insert your own name or word here) and more!
Don’t believe me? Indulge me for just a bit longer, ok?
HOPE is certainly not a new concept. The Holy Word of God has been showing us there is HOPE, since, well… its existence! Can we trace this back? YES, right back to the very first book of the Bible, The Book of Genesis. Here we find three hope-FULL stories (there’s more, but we will stick with these three). In Genesis, we find the story of Noah, the story of Abraham and the story of Joseph. Have you read them? I mean these three are power-hitters!
Now, I’m a former teacher (middle school to be exact), so I have no problem telling you that today I am assigning homework. What?!? YES! If you don’t know these scriptures (or even if you do), please read or re-read them! I mean, Joseph? WOW!
But why?!? Well, because homework reaffirms what we’ve just learned, right? So, please, catch up on these three stories (Links provided below.) Not only are they epic, they will help you with the next couple of blogs. Most importantly, they will give you… HOPE! That’s right…HOPE, even in today’s broken world.
In the joy of Christ and with much love,
Chris

These links will lead you to the “Got Questions” site where they will summarize these three stories and provide scripture. Please know, there is nothing better than to read the scriptures for yourself with The Holy Spirit as a guide. I am sharing these stories this way because there is so much here to unpack, that I simply wanted to provide summaries first. This site, gotquestions.org has helped me tremendously through the years.
